Tata is all set to launch Tata Curvv and create a new segment of coupe SUVs in budget market. The official dates are yet to be announced by Tata but it’s expected to launch by 7th August 2024.

Tata Curvv

The front facia of Tata Curvv is very similar to the ongoing Nexon model with minor tweaks in grille and bumper. It will come with an all-LED setup for the lights and connected DRLs. From side it will support the sloping down roofline design of the coupe paired with 18-inch alloys wheels. The tail gate of Tata Curvv also reflects true coupe design.

Tata has officially announced that Tata Curvv will be based on Tata’s X1 platform, same platform which underpins Tata Nexon. We can expect a full 5 start safety rating from Tata Curvv keeping in mind the safety rating of Tata Nexon and also Tata’s past performance in safety area.

According to various sources, Tata Curvv will come with three engine options. 1.2, 1.5-liters turbo petrol engines and a 1.5 liters diesel engine. The diesel engine will be the same one used in Tata Altroz and Nexon with slightly better tuning for power. The petrol engines are said to come with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

Diesel engine will come with a 6-speed manual initially, later on a 6 speed AMT might be offered with the diesel Curvv. Tata Curvv will also come with an EV option with no official announcements over the battery size and the range.

1.2-liter turbo petrol engine is likely to be offered on the lower variants of Tata Curvv with 1.5-liter turbo petrol likely to be offered on top end trims. 1.2 turbo petrol and 1.5 turbo petrol will produce a power output of 130 BHP and 170 BHP. The 1.5 diesel is likely to produce a power output of 113 BHP with 260 NM of torque.

Tata Curvv will be launched in the C segment SUVs and will rival the cars like Maurit Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Tata Curvv could be a make or break for Tata motors as it’s going to launch with a coupe design which could or could not be received very well in the Indian market as most of the buyers are inclined towards visually bulky and boxy designs.
