TVS has recently launched Jupiter 110 with an all new 113 cc single cylinder 4 stroke engine churning out 7.91 bhp with 9.8 NM torque (with assist) and 9.2 NM (without assist). TVS has introduced the new Jupiter with an all new design language in line with their current ongoing model TVS icube.

Features offered by Jupiter are much more practical and better than the features offered on Activa. Read below to see how these features square up against Activa –

1) 33 litres of boot space – With petrol tank shifted to footboard area, TVS has managed to provide a bigger boot of 33 litres which can store two half faced helmets. This setup is similar to what we have already seen in TVS Jupiter 125. 33 litres is a very generous space compared to Activa’s 18 litres.

2) Smart connect features using which you can connect your phone to your scooter and see call details and navigation. This feature is altogether missing on Activa 110.

3) Disc brakes are offered on top model of Jupiter while on Activa 110, disc brakes are not offered in any of the variant.

4) TVS jupiter offers better stability with 12 inch wheel offered in the rear while Activa offers a 10 incher. Driving dynamics of Jupiter are also better.

5) Claimed fuel efficiency of Jupiter slightly better than fuel efficiency offered on Activa. But we will have to wait for real world figures reported by the users.

6) Torque assist is available on the top model of TVS Jupiter which is similar to the mild hybrid feature offered on Suzuki cars. This feature helps in delivering extra punch while driving the scooter using the battery. Activa misses on this feature altogether.

Some of the areas where Activa scores better than Jupiter –

1) Engine offered on Activa is almost bulletproof with top notch reliability and great NVH levels.

2) Spare parts are comparatively cheaper with engines easier to work on, almost every roadside mechanic can work on Activa.

3) Top model of Activa comes with a keyless remote which is not offered on Jupiter.

Conclusion – You can go ahead and buy the new Jupiter if you’re looking for something different than the standard Activa. Jupiter also happens to be the second best selling scooter in India as it’s fairly reliable with less cost of ownership. You cannot go wrong with your decision of buying a TVS Jupiter
