Citroen C3 Crash Test Latin NCAP - 0 Stars | MotorBeam

Basalt is made on the same platform used by Citroen in it’s other offerings like C3 and C3-aircross. C3 was crash tested in Latin NCAP and got a safety rating 0 star which also creates some questions regarding the safety of the upcoming SUV. We will have to wait and see if Citroen has made some improvements to the platform when the new SUV is out and crash tested.

Citroen Basalt will take on the well-established C segment rivals like Maruti Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate but it’s true rival will be Tata Curvv as Curvv is also a coupe SUV which will be offered in the C segment. We will have to wait and see how well the coupe SUV design will do in the Indian market as Indian buyers are more inclined towards boxy SUV designs. Citroen Basalt will most likely undercut all it’s rivals by a good margin in prices as Citroen is always very aggressive with their pricing which is already seen in C3 launched in hot hatch segment and C3-aircross launched in C segment SUV segment.
