You can skip the entire text if you are looking for a simple Yes / No advice. The short answer is “Yes”. Mahindra has been developing really good cars, and that can be validated by a short visit to their showrooms. The overall service at their showrooms is sub-par at best. If you have visited other brand showrooms first, then there is a very good chance that you will regret even considering a Mahindra.
Mahindra has curated such perfect vehicles that these cars are now a pull product. Sales people at the showroom are at ease, no one will bother offering you a test drive and even if you are looking to buy a top of the line variant the showroom employees will be least bothered. If you are looking for a good buying experience then you are not build for Mahindra cars.
You might be wondering then what is the hype all about?
Pros of Mahindra XUV 700 2024
- The actual hype is about their updated cars. Once you have left your ego aside and by god’s grace you manage to get a test drive, then you will understand that all the struggles and never ending waiting lines are worth it.
- Mahindra has striked the perfect balance with their cars, and the XUV 700 is no exception. No matter what variant you opt for, you will never feel a rupee has been wasted. This car drives like nothing in its segment or even in the segment above. The engine is always climbing and the steering feedback is very confident. The shock set-up although very noisy, keeps the overall car very stable even at its top speed.
- This might not make a perfect sense, but the overall dynamics of the car is very empowering. You feel confident on highways, you are confident while overtaking and you feel safe with your family in this car.
- XUV 700 is Mahindra’s most feature rich car. If you are that sort of a person who care about comfort features in a car, then you will feel pretty good in this car. All the common features you can think of, are available in this car. The obvious highlights include the dual screens and the panoramic sunroof, sorry the SKYROOF.
Cons of Mahindra XUV 700 2024
- Not often enthusiasts suggest to buy an Automatic car, but this one is an exception. The Manual gear box is very jittery and putting a 1st or 2nd will require a lot of strength some times. If you are upgrading from a an international brand such Hyundai or a Volkswagen, you will feel disheartened while driving a Manual XUV.
- From day 1, you will feel that the noise from your shockers is not OK, and a new car is not supposed to sound like this over potholes. The worst part is, you will never get used to it. The service centre guys will try to convince you, that this is expected in monocoque chassis cars. Which is not true for any other brand SUVs. But it is what is it is in Mahindra.
- The fuel efficiency is terrible. We understand the downside of owning such a powerful car, but for your reference please note that under no condition, you will ever see a double digit mileage in a petrol automatic.
